Talk: How to Spot A Liar
Pamela
Meyer refers to herself as a Lie Spotter. This is exactly what it sounds like,
someone who knows the tell all sings of liar and how to spot them. In her video
she first gives some facts about lying and tells you what it really means to
lie spotter, According to Meyer, by the time you make it to college you will
lie to your mom one out of every five times to talk to her. After that she goes
on to tell about some “hot spots” lie spotters look for. She talks about how
people who are not being truthful will unknowingly tend to use formal language
and distance themselves from the subject. She goes on to talk about how the
truth is becoming something pretty scares and encourages everyone watching to
keep the truth alive.
I was drawn towards this video
by the name and wasn’t disappointed. I found her short talk about the hints
liars give off to be interesting and pretty insightful. Personally I always
wonder if I’m being lied too and I’m usually pretty good a guessing but you can
never be too sure. But imagine being like her, someone who could detect if
you’re being lied to with 90 percent accuracy, no equipment needed. That’d be
pretty cool don’t you think?
I don't know if I would want to know, in many cases.
